Is there savings in going green? - you bet your britches you can save some green ! The term “going green” is taking about doing things that minimize our environmental foot print or doing your part to conserve and recycle our everyday resources. There are literally thousands, if not more, ways to actually “go green”, and with the help of blogs and the internet in general, there is a fantastic opportunity in the coming year for us to go green by leveraging and taking advantage of many different and unique methods.
In contrast to going on a diet when you’re trying to lose weight - generally the diet food costs more than “regular” food, it’s there to make you lose the weight , that is the main result you get , and it can be quite expensive, but that’s quite the opposite when you do a planet diet like saving electricity, water, ect. . When you make the choice to go green , you can save yourself a bunch of money while saving the earth !
Here are a few ways you can going green at home :
1. Carpool with your coworkers
2. Use mass transit more often
3. Using compact fluorescent light bulbs
4. Don’t use hot water to wash clothes
5. Use a Clothesline in the summer time
6. Get low usage shower heads
7. Using reusable water bottles
I could go on and on about different ways to go green, but the 7 ways listed above are perfectly easy and acceptable ways to help the environment, and best of all, you’ll save money using every single method!
I would conservatively say that just by doing the above, you could save anywhere from $250-$350 per month, you could take that money and put it towards your other bills . Recently, a poll came out that said only 12% of consumers are really “going green”, and another 41 percent were starting to go green .
Think about the impact if we could get the number of diehard greeners higher , it would make a much greater impact than most people could imagine.
Starting now, make a list of all the ways you can start to go green . At the end of 30 days, then crunch the numbers and see the savings by putting the number side by side with previous months . Saving money by going green is so addictive that you’ll starting doing it more and more and love the extra cash you’re putting back in the bank!
