Enough research has already been done for the alternative fuel supply and is still carrying on. Since this is a serious concern of loosing the permanent source of energy, the world is on the lookout of alternative source of energy which in other words is known as sustainable energy. The world is looking for a flourishing remedy.

Sustainable energy is produced from sun rays, wind power and wave power. Geothermal energy is also a source but its offered capacity in positive is in limited localities of the world.

If the dedication for the environment precautions is your fort, you can contribute lots of things for the sustain-ability of the nature and for the sustainable energy. You have to acquire the solar energy challenge. If your place receives ample sun rays and you have an independent roof on your apartment, you can install solar panels. You will be contributing your own share for solar power. By this you will be able to strike a balance with the power from the local grid and the power from the solar panels and save what ever little quantity of energy there is to save. The other sources, wind and waves are normally beyond the reach of regular people. But there is a ray of hope, provided if you are staying in a country side where the fast streams are within your reach you can contemplate about a water mill or a wind mill.

But the regrettable part of the whole story is that even though such energy sources are extremely lucrative, depending on them fully is too expensive. We have seen the examples of electric cars and cars which run on ethanol. But it is again beyond the reach of the regular people.

A car with perfectly tuned machine to reduce the mileage will be better for the reduction of fuel consumption. Electric cars are also on road but the problem of the short life span of the battery is causing problems for making it a perfect alternative for the trendy cars.
